Who Is The Segway Ninebot E8 Scooter For?

Segway Ninebot ZING E8 riders should be between the ages of 6 and 12 to use it safely. However, due to its top speed and features, it is best suited for children ages 9 to 10. However, the E8 scooter is designed specifically with younger riders in mind. Its crash-test ratings, shock-absorption, and handling are all designed to make even the most inexperienced riders feel confident and at ease.

Is The Segway Ninebot E8 Comfortable For Kids To Ride?

Your child’s first scooter should be one that provides them with a secure and pleasant experience. When it comes to both of these criteria, the Segway Ninebot ZING E8 excels. The scooter’s front shock absorption allows it to handle light off-roading across local parks and grassy areas. Wear-resistant rubber tires reduce service requirements. As an added bonus, the scooter’s low-slung foot deck will make it easier for your child to steer and maintain control.

Segway Ninebot E8 Scooter Features

Design

Segway’s Zing electric scooter for children has a brilliant layout. If your child is nervous about riding for the first time, the ZING E8’s curved, comfortable handlebars will help calm their nerves. The E8’s grips for the handlebars are made of a vibrant rubber that not only looks great but is also very grippy. These not only help the rider maintain a secure grip on the scooter but also make cleanup a breeze.

It’s safe to assume that a scooter constructed from the same material used by NASA to send humans into space will last a long time. The frame of the Segway Ninebot ZING E8 is made of aircraft-grade aluminum alloy, making the scooter lightweight, strong, and easily transportable.

The ZING E8 has an extremely low 3.9-inch deck height. The deck’s low centre of gravity contributes to the smoothness of the ride and the ease with which your child can steer and handle the board in general. The anti-slip coating on the deck is an added bonus.

The high elastic solid rubber tires are resistant to punctures and general wear and tear, saving you the trouble of constantly having to replace or repair them. They feature anti-skid treads that will keep your kid safe, and the 40mm front shock absorber will ease the pressure on your child’s knees and ankles.

Build Quality

Aerial grade aluminum and tires that are impervious to punctures and wear show that Segway spared no expense in making sure the ZING E8 lives up to the high quality standards for which the company is known.  The ZING E8 has superior construction thanks to its well-thought-out design and high-grade components.

Portability

Of course, kids are the target audience for the ZING E8, but that doesn’t mean grownups won’t enjoy it too. The E8’s foldable design makes it ideal for transport in a car or for tucking away in a utility closet when not in use. Simply press down on the scooter’s foot-operated folding pedal and the E8 will quickly and easily fold into a manageable size for transport. In other words, it’s so easy that a child could do it.

Performance

With its 130W motor, your child may power the Ninebot ZING E8 to a speedy 8.6 mph. You’ll be relieved to learn that the speed of the ZING E8 may be adjusted in a variety of ways. One of the three settings limits the maximum speed to 6.2 mph, while another disables the throttle, limiting your child’s speed to what they can achieve through leg kicks (but no higher than 8.6 mph). There is a tiny button on the handlebar of the ZING E8 that allows you to switch between the various riding modes.

The Segway Zing, will travel upto 6.2 miles on a single charge. However, it’s important to note that the 6.2-mile range is the absolute maximum that the ZING E8 can travel on a single charge. This, of course, depends on how fast you’re going and how quickly you’re accelerating while riding. There is also a maximum 7% incline that the Ninebot ZING E8 can handle (4-degrees). Your child won’t be able to conquer Mount Everest on this, but they will be able to cruise down the gentler hills in the neighborhood.

The ZING E8 has three brakes. The electronic brake is activated by pulling the scooter’s hand brake, and additional stopping power can be supplied by pressing down on the rear fender brake with one’s foot. The ZING E8 also has a regenerative braking system, which aids in coming to a safe and speedy stop. Your child has multiple options for securely coming to a stop, as each brake works alone or in tandem with the others. Keep in mind that the handbrake is an essential safety feature that shouldn’t be ignored. Having tried a wide variety of electric scooters, I can say that hand-operated brakes are my favorite, as they are intuitive for most riders who have transitioned from bicycles.

How Do I Assemble The Segway Ninebot E8 Scooter?

segway ninebot E8 scooter

The ZING E8  assembly is incredibly straightforward. To insert the stem into the collar clamp, loosen the bolts using the included Allen wrench. The last step is to use the Allen wrench to retighten the collar clamp’s bolts. That’s it. You’re finished. However, before giving it to your kid, you should make sure the brakes and handling are in good working order.

Customer Comments

This Segway Ninebot S Kids, Smart Self-Balancing Electric Scooter with LED Light is a smaller kid-sized version of the popular Ninebot people mover.

My first impressions of this were of how small and compact this is, looks like an adorable little baby Ninebot which it is, I guess.

Since it is on the smaller side, this is ideal for younger children and with the reduced speed on this model it helps to keep things manageable for the kids. Always always make sure any rider is wearing a helmet, there is no sense in risking a TBI to a developing child’s brain.

Overall, this is an adorable kid sized version of the Ninebot that is less capable but is a great introduction to these kinds of people movers for children. 4/5 stars
