Noom Diet Plan Review

Metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, and cardiovascular disease are all conditions that are more likely the heavier you are. Maintaining weight loss requires making adjustments to one’s diet (cutting back on unhealthy foods, reducing sugar and fat consumption, controlling portions, and increasing vegetable and fruit intake), one’s level of physical activity, and one’s willingness to try behavioral changes like self-monitoring.

Noom is a mobile health and weight loss software that encourages users to make permanent adjustments to their way of thinking, eating, and exercising. It aids in maintaining a healthy weight by keeping a record of your food intake and providing helpful nutritional advice as you go. Experienced professionals will tailor a solution to your specific needs.

The high number of success stories, many of which are lasting and transformative, has contributed to Noom’s rising profile and appeal. The fact that it has been featured in Hello, Vice, and Rolling Stone in addition to its 450k Instagram followers is phenomenal. Noom’s app was recognized as having “outstanding design” by the Red Dot Award in 2017.

  • You’ll need some initiative to follow through

Is The Noom Diet Plan Worth It?

Noom diet plan review

The majority (78%) of the 35,921 Noom users who participated in a clinical study evaluating the Noom diet plans reported that they lost weight, with 22.7% losing more than 10% of their body weight.

Self-monitoring is an example of a cognitive and behavioral strategy that has been shown to aid in weight loss. Self-monitoring is simplified with this app because you do not need to keep a paper journal.

What do you think? Is Noom a good investment? I would think that it is, especially if you have tried other weight-loss programs without results. This Noom diet plan helps you change your mindset around food.

Noom’s inclusion of a personal coach and a community with each membership is one of the things customers like best about the service.

What Is The Noom Diet Plan?

According to the Noom website, it is the “final weight-loss program you’ll ever need.” It’s like having your own personal trainer, dietitian, and health coach in one convenient location (i.e., your phone).

Noom stands out from the crowd of diet and fitness applications because it encourages users to alter their eating and exercise habits rather than just track their food intake. For instance, the app can recommend nutritious meals. It does an excellent job of not making people afraid of specific foods and, instead, takes an educational tack to teach people how to eat healthily and why certain foods are recommended over others. The app will quiz you after you’ve read healthy-living tips.

It’s understandable if the idea of using this app to lose weight sounds like a chore—after all, who has the time to read and take quizzes throughout the day? but it may be the secret to losing weight and keeping it off for good. If you want to lose weight in a healthy, long-term way, the app’s educational features, like tips on cutting calories and carbs and getting more exercise, are very helpful.

How Does A Noom Diet Plan Work?

The first step in starting the Noom diet is answering a number of questions.

1. Take a quick questionnaire.

You start by taking a 10-minute online quiz about your background and weight-loss goals. The questionnaire also inquires as to the respondent’s level of physical activity, frequency of eating, and susceptibility to conditions including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and depression.

2. After the quiz, you’ll need to choose your plan and install the Noom App on your mobile device.

After deciding to join Noom and paying the membership cost, the next step is to get the app. Smartphones running IOS 12.4 or later and Android 6 or later are required to use it at this time. It’s compatible with iPads and Android tablets, but they lack motion sensors, so their usage is limited (Noom has a step counter). Installing the app will prompt you to enter the email address you used to register for the service.

3. Sign up for classes, meet your coach, and receive your daily food allowance.

In Noom’s 16-week program, you’ll take 10 bite-sized classes in psychology and habit modification. You can start the lessons whenever you have between five and sixteen minutes to dedicate to them each day. After the first couple of days, you’ll be assigned a goal coach who will personally call out to you roughly twice a week to see how things are going, ask how things are going, and provide you with encouraging words.

Once you’ve been in the program for a few more days, you’ll be placed in a cohort with a coach and a set of peers. The group coach oversees the online support group, shares weight reduction advice, and interacts with members of the group as needed. The goal coach and the group coach have both completed extensive Noom training and have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and two thousand hours of wellness experience, respectively.

Calorie limitations are based on the data you provided. As the first mobile health service to be recognized by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) for offering an evidence-based type 2 diabetes prevention program, Noom may be the best option for some overweight and pre-diabetic individuals.

As part of your individualized plan, you will be given a daily calorie budget (the bare minimum of calories you need to function each day) and instructed to keep a food and exercise diary. You can also choose whether you want to spend two or ten minutes every day reading brief pieces on topics like stress reduction, healthy nutrition, and optimistic thinking.

In addition to this, Noom has a step counter, so you can keep track of your daily activity level without having to constantly check your phone. The app suggests keeping track of your daily BP, BG, and H2O intake.

The minimum duration of the Noom plan is 16 weeks; however, customers are advised to purchase as much as a year at a time for effective weight loss and maintenance.

What Can You Eat On A Noon Diet Plan?

Although Noom doesn’t specifically ban certain meals, it does employ a traffic light system (green, yellow, and orange) to indicate which foods are more likely to aid in weight loss and which are more likely to sabotage it.

The recommended daily intake of nutrients is 30 percent from green meals, 45 percent from yellow foods, and 25 percent from orange foods.

Noom Green Foods

Green foods, such as fruits and vegetables, provide the highest concentration of beneficial elements while having the fewest calories.

The following are some examples of green foods:

  • Apples
  • Bananas
  • Berries
  • Egg whites
  • Low-fat dairy products
  • Peppers
  • Quinoa / Spinach
  • Whole grains

Noom Yellow Foods

Meat and dairy products are examples of yellow foods that are high in calories but not necessarily unhealthy.

Examples of yellow foods include:

  • Avocado
  • Beans
  • Chicken
  • Salmon
  • Eggs

Noom Orange Foods

Orange items, such as processed foods and desserts, have the greatest calories but the fewest nutrients.

The app isn’t trying to discourage you from eating orange foods; it just wants you to be aware that they contribute disproportionately to your daily calorie intake and aren’t as filling.

The list of orange foods includes:

  • Beef
  • Burgers
  • Cakes
  • French fries
  • Full-fat dairy
  • Nuts
  • Olive Oil

How Much Does The Noom Diet Cost?
