Retrospec Bikes Review

Retrospec bicycles are designed with a retro aesthetic in mind. You might find it difficult to imagine retro bikes, but they do exist.  These retro bikes have a design that is not only modern but also one-of-a-kind.

The company has bikes for everyone, including beginners and experts. These bikes are comfortable, one-of-a-kind, and available in a wide range of colours.

Harper Fixie Bike – Single Speed

Retrospec Harper is one of the brands bestsellers. This city bike is ideal for all types of riders because it can be set to a single speed or converted to a fixie with a simple flip of the back wheel.

The retro-cool bicycle is simple yet stylish; there are no complicated components, so the bike is light and easy to maintain. The grooved 700C x 28mm tyres grip the pavement and dispel water, while the dependable front and rear brakes make it easy to stop at unexpected red lights.

The Harper Fixie bike is available in a variety of vibrant colours and costs $259.99.

We were impressed by the bicycle’s user reviews; not only did it receive 580 reviews, but it also received an average review rating of 4.7 stars. Additionally all reviews were three stars or higher, and customers agreed that the bike is outstanding for the price.

Among the comments are:

  • Excellent for city commuting and extremely fast
  • The bicycle is simple to assemble, and the ride is smooth and comfortable.
  • The bike rides smoothly and easily, the colours are fantastic, the coaster is quiet, the gearing is responsive, and it is light enough to carry up my stairs.

Within all of the positive reviews, there were a few negative points. Several customers reported that their wheels did not line up straight, and another was dissatisfied with customer service because they did not follow up on an issue with a wheel.

Chatham Plus Beach Cruiser Bike – Step Through

The stunning Chatham Beach Cruiser is up next; if you’re looking for a carefree cruiser, this bicycle is a great option. In particular, there’s no need to be concerned about what to wear because the step through bike frame slopes down, making dismounting in a short sundress or beach coverup simple and comfortable.

The Chatham Beach Cruiser has it all for those dreamy coastal rides, because it gives you a smooth riding experience. The cushioned saddle and squishy grips add to the bike’s relaxed vibe. Additionally, pedal with the ease of a single-speed bike and come to a complete stop with the built-in coaster brake.

The Chatham Beach Cruiser costs 299.00 and comes in a variety of lovely pastel colours. You can also upgrade from the steel frame to an alloy frame for $349.99.

Retrospec E-Bikes Review

In addition to bikes, there is a large selection of electric bikes.

Beaumont Rev Electric City Bike

The Beaumont Rev electric City Bike or the Beaumont Rev electric City Bike with Step Through are both available for purchase.

The Beaumont Rev is the ideal electric bike for commuting in the city. Modern e-power meets vintage motif for a relaxing, comfortable cruise or to spice up your daily commute.

The electric bike has six levels of pedal assist, on-demand throttle boosts, as well as seven speeds that allow you to cruise at up to 20mph.

Furthermore, Li-ion batteries are long-lasting and durable, with a range of 28-37 miles before requiring a five to six hour recharge.

A convenient LED handlebar mount display shows your pedal assist and better levels, allowing you to keep track of your charge at all times. A button on the handlebar remote also activates the start aid function. When pressed, the motor propels the bike at 4mph without requiring you to pedal, thereby avoiding those initial wobbles.

Retrospecs Electric City Bikes are $1,199.99 each.

Jax Rev Electric Folding Bike

If you’re looking for adventure, we’ve got the bike for you. The Jax Rev is not only an electric bike, but also a folding electric bike. Yes, who knew these things existed?

The folding frame, handlebar, and pedals of the e-bikes collapse to a perfect compact, car-friendly size. When you arrive at your destination, the e-fat bike’s tyres roll over bumps with ease, and its suspension fork absorbs shocks along the way.

The Jax Rev, like the other e-bikes has a Start Aid that ensures a smooth take-off. Then let the pedal-assist and throttle provide you with a boost of up to 20mph to keep you going along the way!

The Li-ion batteries are strong and long-lasting, providing 37 to 46 miles of assistance before needing to be recharged, which takes about five or six hours.

If that wasn’t enough, this fantastic e-bike also has a rear rack for hauling cargo, a front and rear light for safety, and protective fenders.

Retrospec Reviews From Other Sources

This section of our GNGuide Retrospec review looks at other review sites to see what customers are saying about the brand, their bikes, and other outdoor gear.

The first is Amazon. The brand sells nearly all of their outdoor products on Amazon, but they do not sell adult bikes. Similarly to the retrospec website reviews, the brand fared extremely well, with most products receiving rave reviews. For example, the following items received positive feedback:

  • Zed Longboard has 6,103 reviews with an average rating of 4.7 stars.
  • Cub Kids Balance Bike has 3,894 reviews and a rating of 4.7 stars.
  • Traverse H3 Helmet has 1,348 reviews and a rating of 4.7 stars.
  • G1 Ski and Snowboard Goggles have 643 reviews and a rating of 4.4 stars.

There are also a number of smaller blogs that have posted reviews of specific products. These reviews overwhelmingly agree with the reviews on Retrospec and Amazon that the company provides great value outdoor gear and is a reliable brand.

Customers’ opinions:

Customer service: Customer service reviews for the brand were a bit hit-or-miss. While many reviewers had no problems ordering from the brand, there were a few who contacted the customer service team and received no response. Furthermore, some customers reported delivery boxes going missing or arriving damaged, though this could be the fault of the delivery company rather than Retrospec.

Quality: Customers generally agree that Retrospec Bikes and other gear are of high quality. The majority of reviews agreed that the bikes were well-made, that the gearing was responsive, and that the coasters were quiet. However, a few customers disagreed, citing issues with the wheels not lining up straight as the source of their problems.

Price: The cost of Retrospec Bikes and gear is a significant selling point. Many customers expressed their reluctance to buy from the brand due to the low prices, but were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the items when they received them. Overall, customers agree that the brand provides high-quality gear at reasonable prices.

The brand’s Facebook page, @retrospecbicycles, has 24k followers, and its Instagram page, @retrospec, has 71k followers. Both social media pages are great places to stay up to date on the latest news about your ready-to-outdoor essentials.
